Has anyone had their GFR drop 20 points in less than year?
In January 2024 my GFR went from 53 to 43. It dropped another 11 points between May and August. My Albumin/ Creatine Ratio is 1500. My nephrologist seems totally unconcerned. I am scared. I also have MGUS. Does anyone have these kind of numbers? What did your Doctor say?

I surprised that you GFK up from 8 to 16, whit a renal diet.I have a GFK 8 and I am going to start dialysis soon.I am confused about the food I can eat.
Would you can give some advise about renal diet, please. Thanks in advance.

I was taken off all OTC meds and my diet was very low potassium and low phosphate with 3 liters of water a day. The Internet has several places with lists of high and low potassium foods which helped me. Absolutely nothing from a deli!
Finally I got an appointment with Dr Grajales Cruz on May 5. I hope to find a treatment that helps me to control the amyloidosis .

Amu45sin here. You deserve more than an answer.
I would be extremely worried with an eGFR of 16.
Are you on dialysis?
Mine just recently dropped 20 points in 3 DAYS! I don't yet know why....just noticed this on my tests but I was eGFR 80 (where I had been hovering the last year) on 8/12/2025. On 8/15/2025 I was eGFR 60. On 8/27/2025 still eGFR 60.
Just left the Dr a message about it. They have to call me anyway about my Echocardiogram and bubble study this week, which found a large Cardiac shunt suggesting PFO (or other similar defect) which, coincidentally causes blood clots to be sent out to other organs and cause damage to them. Only explanation that I can think of.
