Has anyone had really good results using Clonazepam ?
Has anyone had really good results using Clonazepam / Klonopin to deal with Fibromyalgia pain. I use it and it lowered my anxiety level, muscle contractions and allowed me to sleep. I’m on .5 mg. At this low dose it allows me to wake up when I feel pain and move my body out of the position I am in. I have been on medications that put me in a very deep sleep, the con to that was when I woke up I was in exploding pain all over my body as I did not move all night.

Yes, I just started a few months ago. Same dosage, I break mine in half. I take 1 about an hour before bedtime. And 1 about 12 hours later. The whole dose to me is strong. But half of it, I can tolerate. It is the only thing that has helped me the most, without terrible side effects. I still have pain and stiffness, but am able to navigate this better. It has helped my anxiety tremendously. I'm very grateful for that. I am unable to tolerate a growing list of SSRI/SRNI's. I am taking a break from trialing those, and do not want to revisit those experiences. But the Clonazepam has been the best so far, least amount of side effects for me. I wish I had this 30 years ago. I'm smiling today. And I told my psych n.p. thank you at my last visit. It's the first time I've been offered this medicine, and this is the first year I've met with psych.office to trial some medicines. I was scared to go at first. But I'm glad I finally did. I'm looking for a new therapist also, as having finally accepted the facts of my conditions, the changes happening to my body, I feel ready to process some more trauma, and move forward in my healing journey. That's a big thing to do. And I'm proud of myself for trying, and will keep searching for the support I need.
I take 2 mg Clonazepam and 100 mg Seroquel to sleep.
Fortunately I don’t wake up in pain from being in one position all night.
I have a sleep disorder related to all the autoimmune issues going on with my body and cannot sleep without this medication. I guess I’m lucky that being in one position all night doesn’t bother me.
I also take clonazepam for my fibromyalgia to sleep at night. If it were not for that, I would not sleep at all.
Thank you for that. Your info makes me feel more validated. Do you mind telling me where you are located? I am in Alberta Canada.
You're welcome. I'm originally from Michigan, U.S., now living in the South, where it is terrible hot and humid currently. I miss the cooler weather, and wow, you live in a beautiful province. I haven't been to Western Canada yet, but closest in visiting Montana many years ago. I was an Edmonton Oilers fan when I was young, along with Detroit R.W., now Florida Panthers. But I enjoy hockey no matter who is playing. I've always wanted to travel and see Banff N.P. area, also Northern Manitoba. But haven't made it there, yet. When I lived in Michigan, I visited Toronto a few times. Loved it! My son has been encouraging me to get my passport and try and travel more. I like traveling by trains, and know there are some very scenic routes around. Hope my reply finds you well.
I apologize. I thought I replied to your comment. Do you mind if I ask how many mg you are on?
I’m on 1 mg of Clonazepam daily, and it is very helpful in treating my anxiety. However, do not miss a single dose or go off of it cold turkey. Bad side effects! I accidentally ran out of my prescription and missed a dose once. It was terrible! I vowed never to make that mistake again.
I do have a recent horror story of being taken off Clonazepam cold turkey by my GP. Do you mind telling me what happened to you and why you went cold turkey?
I was taking .5 mg of klonopin a day for burning mouth syndrome and it also helped with tarsal tunnel in my feet. I believe that my FMS gives me a propensity to these chronic pain issues. My doctors warned of increased brain fog with long- term use of benzodiazepines so I switched to Topiramate. I had no withdrawals at all from changing. All of my joints are stiff when I wake up too if I sleep well, which ironically is when I take .5 mg of xanex! I need to stretch but Im sort of stiff all the time. Light exercise helps.
I take 1mg only on bad nights. It starts with my severe restless leg/limb syndrome and then my whole body just starts hurting. I get the same ironic challenge that with deep sleep comes major aches and pains from being in 1 position for too long. So I try to balance need for deep sleep vs pain tolerance . So basically about once every 2 weeks I'm so exhausted from lack of good sleep I take 1mg klonapin/clonazepam.
