Has anyone had dislocated IOL surgery ?
Has anyone had surgery for dislocated IOL ? I would like to hear about your recovery. I had cataract surgery in both eyes back when I was in my 40's . . . maybe 30 years ago. Both were very successful and no problems until late last year. In October, 2024, I had one unsuccessful surgery for a dislocated IOL: the eye was leaking and collapsing. Three infection of gas was given to help hold the eye but nothing worked. A week later I had another surgery and replacement of the lens. The same issue occurred but the eye was able to heal somewhat. After four months the eye was OK but pressure was still low. After six months the pressure was normal and all stitches were removed, however I was experiencing pain and discomfort in the eye. I returned to my Optometrist after seven months for an exam and at the same time I returned to my eye surgeon for an exam. I mention to both about the pain and discomfort but they both were unconcern. The pain is in the center of the eye and goes back and the discomfort is a soreness in one upper portion. The pain is not constant but the discomfort is almost alway there. My vision is not the same as before the surgery but it has improved. I have to say my experience at the eye surgeons' office was a "cattle call". It is a well know national eye care center but they don't really have time for much real care! Just surgery . .. move them in and out as quickly as possible.
Any thoughts.
Thank you for your time.
