Has anyone had a tight band feeling after total knee replacement?
I am 8 weeks post TKR and have had this very tight band around my knee since week one. My Dr at 6 wks says it is normal and will go away. Has anyone else had this and did it go away and when?

I still have right band feeling 24/7 for almost 11 years. My theory is is from the 4 MUA I had. Two on ken three on other breaking up scar tissue. I’ve had therapist and massage person tell me it is fascia which makes sense. My dr could never figure it out.
I’ve had therapist and massage person tell me that the MUA breaks up scar tissue but then the fascia each time grows I. Different directions. And forms a mesh/web like thing inside. Makes sense because I had knees done three months apart. MUA done 3 times on one knee and 2 on other and both knees still after 11 years feel exactly same right hand feeling 24/7. Never went away. I do have at least 120 degree rom. I’ve done cupping on myself which inthink is the answer just don’t do often enough.
I am little over 5 months out of revision, I have done graston and cupping …. But I stopped everything I went back to basics after setback….. now I do pool . Mfr and exercise , stretches nothing crazy ……my knee has been feeling so much better …. I just feel tight at times like I need a really good stretch but when I stretch don’t get what I am looking for…. I know that sounds strange…..cupping interesting how often do you do? Does it help with the tight feeling inside?
Try drinking more water! Always make sure you keep limber, walking and bike riding are two of the best exercises and lastly, and most important check with your doctor or his PA.
Agreed. Sationary bike riding, at any place or resistance, just seems good for my knees after TKR. I mostly do resistance training, but try to get on the bike for 20-30 minutes at least twice a week. And a lot of water is always a good idea. Thanks!
You are most welcome!
Hopefully it will work.
Has anyone had the sensation of an ace bandage being wrapped tightly around the new knee joint?
