Has anyone had a swollen lymph node under their armpit?

Has anyone had a swollen lymph node under their left armpit? Did it cause your head to hurt? I also had a biopsy to see what was causing it to swell. I'm worried because I've had stage 2 breast cancer before (August 2011)

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1/2026. My care team was not to concerned about the tumors in my breast (very small) but my right armpit was having a huge cancer party. After having a single mastectomy they took out 20 lymph nodes and all were cancerous. Still have a bit of problems with that arm but all in all good. Safe journey to you!!

Thank you. Waiting for them to schedule the biopsy is what's getting to me.

@dfj, I can understand you're a nervous wreck. I agree with @mimi09. You can do this. I wish you the best with the biopsy. Let us know how it goes.

Waiting is so hard. How do you keep yourself calm or to distract yourself as you wait?

Yes.............I had a lump and I found it myself. I then had it biopsied and it was determined to be breast cancer. I immediately went to Roswell Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY and had it checked. They gave me a choice of a mastectomy or a lumpectomy. I opted for the lumpectomy, chemo and radiation. It has been 5 years now and I am still cancer free.

Hi, thank you for asking. I am waiting to see the surgical oncologist. The referral was suppose to be sent on the 23rd. I'm a nervous wreck.

@dfj please know that we've all been in your place: "nervous wreck."
It's SO crowded, try to find your mentally quiet place in meditation, music, reading, your hobbies (even manic cleaning), to be distracted. Not easy at first try, but persevering is most important for success! Be strong because you CAN do it!

June 2025 I was in SC. A CT scan was performed for my lungs. They found an enlarged left lymph node. I moved back to PA and my PC ordered a Ultra Sound. There is a deeper lymph node without a definite fatty hilum under the left arm pit. I am waiting for Surgical Oncology to call for an appointment. I am a nervous wreck.

@dfj, have you seen surgical oncology in the meantime? What did you find out? How are you doing?

@shay1010, a lump in your armpit must be worrisome for you. You've already experienced cancer and want to make sure to have it looked at. When did you or will you have the ultrasound and mammogram?

@colleenyoung Thankfully, after reviewing my file, I was pushed forward a month and will FINALLY be seen April 16. Just waiting until then with lots of digging trying to one similar case. No luck so far....
