Has anyone experience swollen knuckle joint?

Posted by npinner04 @npinner04, Jun 18, 2023

I was diagnosed with long covid in Nov 2021. Since then I have had a great many issues and problems some have come and gone and some have remained. I am noticing within the past couple of months my second finger on my right hand knuckle is constantly in pain needs to be cracked and is swollen. Had anyone else experienced any joint or knuckle swelling? I have in my joints all over my body but never in just my finger. Since covid,So many things go on with long covid I was just wondering was this something else to add to the list. Thank you in Advance for any replies.

I have the same thing going on with my knuckles. I never crack my knuckles, but there are times I have to just to bend my fingers.

I was told to reduce my salt intake. I do not use salt on food, only pepper. All of my joints are having issues. They hurt when I move them, and as soon as the pop, I have relief.

I have been approved to be seen at the Mayo Clinic. I hope they can help with some relief in those symptoms.

I also have my knuckles and wrist&elbow & toe joints itch.
Scratching them just makes the skin sore. I've tried heat or ice with no effect. Eventually they calm down on their own

Yes my joints have all gone through the wrecker, but it's this middle finger knuckle that has really been bothering me. Have any of you gone to a rheumatologist for it did it help? It seems like at test always come back negative

Over the past two months, my knuckles have been getting bigger and hurt like arthritis. Also have slight trigger finger.

I had fairly mild covid in June 2022. Three weeks later I showed signs of long covid manifesting with swelling of both feet and ankles. After a few weeks the swelling worked its way up to include my calves. It did not respond to the typical ice and elevation. In September I was diagnosed with lymphedema and began treatment to get the swelling down. I now wear thigh high compression stockings daily. I also use an electric graduated compression pump for an hour each night.

A year or so after having covid in 2022 my fingers would occasionally lock up at the joints when I woke up in the morning. I’ve been told it’s called trigger finger. It would lock at the knuckle, but I could pop it. Now I sometimes have to manually lift it to unlock it. It happens sporadically on both hands, mostly ring fingers and middle finger.

Yes. Covid may have triggered Rheumatoid Arthritis. I am at risk because my Grandma had it.
