Has anyone ever dealt with a kidney stone in the new kidney?

My father's new kidney had a giant Stone. He was doing great until they went in to try to get rid of the stone. Now he has catheters and nephrostomy bags and the kidney is bleeding. He has been in the hospital and his mental state is waning fast. I feel helpless. Any thoughts? Any advice?

Thank you everyone for your continued support. I haven't been able to update because things have not been particularly great for my dad. When they went in to remove the stones that was in the donor kidney everything seemed to go south. He ended up with a nephrostomy tube. Then there was blood in the bag, and so he was in the ER. They sent him home, but then came the pain. He has been getting clots in the kidney and in the bladder. So he's back in the hospital now. He's had a few blood transfusions. And everything is just sort of up in the air. Just feeling very sad and scared. Any encouragement for advice is greatly appreciated.

@sarahdemare04, so sorry to hear that removing the kidney stones led to further complications. How is your dad doing now? Has he been stabilized? Discharged from hospital?

@colleenyoung it's been a back and forth. He got readmitted when he spiked a fever so the next surgery is next Monday. It's just been a lot. I keep trying to keep his spirits up but it has not been easy. I am just staying positive. Thank you for checking in!!
