Has anyone developed an enlarged spleen with MDS?

My husband has been diagnosed with MDS and has been getting treatment for many years. He has developed an enlarged spleen. Has anyone else had this happen?

Hi @auntsue303 I'm sorry to hear your husband has developed an enlarged spleen. I know from experience how uncomfortable that can be.

What has your husband's doctor mentioned about the spleen. Do they feel it is a side effect from the MDS?

My enlarged spleen, splenectomy, was the result of the spleen screening out and "collecting" irregular blood cells, with nowhere to dump them. That's what spleens are for.🎶🎶🎶
