hard lump under armpit lasting 2 months

hard/firm lump under armpit that you cannot physically see on surface unless i contort my arm in a certain way. easy to distinguish where it is by feel and aches when i move my arm in certain positions.

the skin where the lump is has refused to grow hair since the lump first appeared. i wouldnt be able to say whether its changed size because im trying not to prod at it or squeeze.

any help with what it could be?

Hello @jul03 welcome to connect. The not knowing will bring anxiety for sure. Especially since breast cancer visits so many of us. This could be caused by many different things, but it seems to want to overstay its welcome, I would definitely get it checked out. I used to get these as my body cycled through the hormone cycle, but they never stayed for months.
Do you have a doctor or trusted health professionals you can check in with?

I'm so sorry you are having this problem! That must be just awful for you! I agree with Chris. You should have a doctor look at it. If you don't have one you can either go to the emergency room or one of those clinics that are new where you can just walk in. I've forgotten the name of them. The fact that this is lasting a while is concerning. It's best to be on the safe side. It may turn out to be something rather simple but at least you will know and can treat it accordingly.
