Happy anniversary

Posted by Denise @denisestlouie, 1 day ago

I'm approaching my second anniversary of my diagnosis of mixed Uterine Cell cell/Serous cancer. It's been a very enlighting time for me. I started my journey believing the literature about the prognosis. It's so easy to do that. This disease is poorly researched and with so few treatment options. It's not like other cancers that have advance survival rates because of money that flows in for research.

Before my cancer diagnosis, I was learning about another chronic illness, an autoimmune disease, that I was diagnosed with exactly 2 years earlier. I didn't like the way that illness was being treated and I turned to a holistic doctor and dietian to help me successfully navigate my health. What a disappointment it was when I was diagnosed with cancer. I had worked so hard to get my body in good health. I was also taking an immune suppressing drug to control my disease. I believe the autoimmune disease plus the immune suppressing drug were instrumental in me developimg cancer.

I was so fortunate to have already be under he care of a holistic doctor at the time of my diagnosis. Holistic doctors don't treat cancer. They work to identify what is going on in your system that could lead to conditions being right for disease development. My holistic doctor work with me on diet and nutrition to support my body while I went through chemotherapy. His work and the work of my Gastroenterologist and Oncologist support me. I also had psychological therapy throughout my entire health journey.

While I was diagnosed at an advanced stage I had no microscopic signs of cancer after surgery. I had no advancement to the lymph system. I took that as a sign that I could survive this disease.

Today I hardly every think about a future where cancer exist. That is really amazing because I chosen to stay on a maintenance chemotherapy. I go into an infusion room every three weeks for an hour. I don't mind this. I also get CBC and medibolic panels every three weeks. For me that is just biofeed back. I have a regular way to see what state my body is in. I can make minor adjustments to my life style very quickly.

Going forward is all about keeping my body healthy. A healthy body will have an immune system that doesn't over work or unwork. This is my key belief about health

I no longer afraid of this disease
