H Pylori, gastritis and gerd: natural cure?

Posted by pianist3 @pianist3, Jul 31, 2023

Hi, everyone! Has anyone had H Pylori, gastritis and gerd? I really want this cured and out of me. I have a gastro appt this Thursday, but I’m wondering if I can get rid of it naturally before then? I’m trying BPC-157, probiotics, broccomax, mastic gum. Any other ideas? Blessings to you all, Mia TY!!

I’ve tried it all in 10 years.
Unfortunately nothing works for me .
H- plyori I don’t have but the other two plus 4 more diagnoses I have .
Been on over 20 different supplements, had 20 tests , tried diff RX’s , 6 Gastro Drs .
Even Functional Medicine Dr.
It’s horrible to live like this . I’m sick day and night and eat healthy and small .
No fast foods, no take out , no caffeine, been on all the elimination diets .
I live on Ultra Pepto.
I’m hungry a lot but scared to eat as it just blows me up . 1000’s deep wet sewer tasting belches .
It’s basically ruined my life .
I pray 🙏 you find right Dr and get well.

Hello, Rozy 288,
I am a 72 yo male who has had chronic constipation and gastritis for three years since I had a botched hernia repair. I had a lot of nerve damage from the surgery and could not bear down for fear of causing a new hernia. Now I am laxative dependent (Senna). I have never had H Pylori. When the gastritis is in flare, I take two Pantoprazole a day, Famotidine, baking soda in water, calcium carbonate, sometimes Sucralfate (makes constipation worse). I follow a gastritis diet of bland food. Frequent, small food portions. L.G. Capellan's "The Gastritis Healing Book" is helpful. Best of luck to you!

Just tossing this out there. Could any of this be related to Functional Dyspepsia? Several of your symptoms sound this condition. Check out Gastro Girl on You Tube for more information on several GI issues. She works with ACG (American College of Gastroenterology).

I just had an endoscopy this week. Results show Barrett’s esophagus of 2cm. Mild erythema of mucosa in stomach. Says it is salmon colored. I haven’t talked to the doctor. I have not been sick or in pain, just some acid reflux. I’ve been taking NSAIDs for years for arthritis. Hoping this had not gone too far.

Do not let them do a funduplacation on you. I may have misspelled it. I had Barrett’s esophagus and they did, that surgery. Have had so many problems since

Watch your diet religiously and take a ppi. No eating 3 hours before bed. No carbonated drinks or booze. I had BE but it’s been gone on my last 2 scopes.

If you google Dr. Jonathan Aviv and Dr. Jamie Koufman, you can get a lot of free information on GERD/silent reflux that might help you. Low acid, whole food diet is the main way to manage reflux along with some lifestyle changes. H Pylori, you may need an antibiotic, I don't know how else to address a bacterial infection. I never had to deal with that. Good luck!

Hi, there! Oh goodness...my heart goes out to you...yes, this is super tough! I have finally gotten my gastritis and gerd way down recently. I think what helped are the following: Original papaya enzymes, Digestive enzymes ultra (by Pure...I take 1 per meal, after 4-5 bites.), I chew extra, extra well now...I try and eat lots of fruit and veggies, no red meat, very little dairy (1/2 slice of cheddar), and no prescribed medicines. I believe that I have Dercum's Disease which is a lipoma/connective tissue thing...anyway, I believe that for me, lipomas have grown in my stomach and decreased the stomach acid in my stomach...and created all the problems with that. It also creates fatty liver (and I don't drink at all)...so, I'm working on that too. Actually, this darn thing I have gets into every spot in my body...so, I'm trying to stay calm, use magnesium baths...eat amazing, keep a gratitude journal and try to walk at least 1 mile of steps per day. I also need a CPAP now, as I found that my oxygen levels go too low at night...oh boys! Thanks for listening...I've decided to not waste any time, not even one minute, on shoulda, woulda, coulda's...I realize now that I want to enjoy every minute of today and all of my tomorrows and not fret about the past too much (as much as possible...but, it's hard!) Also, Reflux Relief from Gaia Herbs really, really helps! I suck on one after most meals and it really helps with acid reflux and gerd. Ok, I hope some of these tips will help you!!! I agree small meals work best for me too. I also try and walk at least 6-8 minutes after every meal...don't just sit, it helps with motility, digestion and prevents (or helps to prevent) constipation. The toughest part is I don't really get hungry anymore...I really miss that! But, on the positive I've lost 30 pounds and am finally in the healthy BMI, yay! Something positive!! Hang in there...focus on the small wins and positives...sending you endless prayers and big hugs!! Best...Mia 🙂

Hi there, Its been 2 years since you wrote this post and I am wondering if your gastritis ever did resolve. Did you have H Pylori? I have a bad case of H Pylori and trying to resolve it with a functional medicine nutritionist. Its been 3 weeks and not really feeling better yet...still have ulcer and losing sleep. If you can respond that would be great! Thanks...

Hi, there! Yes, my gastritis finally resolved, and I’m not really sure if I ever had H Pylori? I think my gastritis was caused by extra estrogen in HRT, and stress. I’ve since retired and sleep great! What helped me heal my stomach was manuka honey, probiotics, l-glutamine and eating healthy. I was having gerd too at the time, and what helped was lemon water, it helps to close the flap that lets acid back up…we lose stomach acid as we age, so lemon water helps!! What also helped was not stressing out about eating any certain kind of foods. I tried going vegan, keto…all these diets, I lost too much weight and I think I was heading toward an eating disorder. I stopped going to my naturopathic doctor and just started eating Mediterranean style and no alcohol, no soda. I do try and eat all organic and not much processed foods, but I do love peanut m and m’s and Oreos, I figure I’ve made it this far!! I hope this helps, the sulcrafate was ok, but I think the best healing is done with real foods and real supplements…like lemon, ginger, manuka honey and garlic. But with an ulcer, I think bland is key and healing is number one! I’m on no medicine now and feel great!!! Sending you blessings, prayers and fast healing!! ❤️‍🩹 message me more, if you need it!!!

Oh, one more thing, I found out by trial and error that I’m allergic to avocado and papaya and bananas, there are a lot of products I was eating with those ingredients, I stopped eating them all and feel even better!!! FYI!
