Great resource for learning about osteoporosis

Posted by njx58 @njx58, Dec 20, 2025

Someone posted this on Reddit, and I felt compelled to share it. He's spent years dealing with osteoporosis and learning as much as he can. Being technically inclined, he organized everything he learned into a complete primer on a Web site. I read it, and it's really well done. If you are new to this, it's a great way to get started.

What an informative article! Lots of information and written in a way the average person can understand. I'm thankful for the link, and for this osteoporosis site in general.

The guide looks very well organized. haven't read the content. Like @fcoop2, I couldn't find the name of the author and creator of the site. @njx58, do you name of the person or insitution who created this online guide?

@colleenyoung No. It's just some guy who posted it on Reddit. It seems to be a labor of love.

Who is the source for this guide? Sounds like Kevin Ellis? I've been trying to locate a facility that offers REM testing but apparently in Virginia, there are none. There is one in Maryland but I can't get them to call me back. Anyone have any suggestions for places in or near VA?

If you mean OsteoCoach in Owings Mills, you can book online. No need to wait for a callback. Here’s the link:

Ray, the owner, does the scan and interprets the results. I’ve gone a few times now. Well worth it.
