Great improvement in spine with Tymlos
After 1 year on Tymlos, taking full dose every day, my L1-4 improved from -3.5 to -1.9!! I am thrilled. My hip areas either held steady (left hip) or improved very slightly (-2.5 to -2.4). I am continuing Tymlos for another 3-4 months to get closer to the 18-month optimum improvement in spine that is typical with Tymlos…hoping for more gains! Then will take Reclast infusion to keep gains and hopefully improve hip. My TBS (quality of bone) showed degradation, as expected, but my Dr said Reclast should help that. BTW, I have been doing light upper body weight lifting (5-8-10 pounds), 6 exercises, at least twice a week for one year. I also walk 30-45 minutes at least 5 days a week. I’m obviously a bit giddy I have improved my BMD in spine so much! This all seems outside our control and all we can do is use the tools we have available.

KPlex-Could you explain which six exercises you did with weights several times per week? Thank you!
I do two versions of triceps per session…always mix it up, plus 2 versions of bicep curls. Also, I do rows, generally with 10 pounds. I never lift more than a combined 20 pounds (a 10 pound weight in each hand). And I started all of this weight work with just 5 pounds and have advanced to 10. I also do a bridge pose and hold it for 60 seconds, and I hold onto a wall and do raises on my toes and heel drops…10 times, SLOWLY, holding about five seconds on my toes and five seconds with my heels dropped. I have tried to add in planks but have not been consistently doing that. I don’t know how much it helps my bones, but I feel so much stronger and have very good balance, standing on one leg for a while. I had read on a respected osteo website (can’t recall which one, but it would have likely been university related) that toning muscles in back provides support for spine. Good luck!
@kplex after reclast can you go off drugs?
If all goes well, a drug holiday, no bone drugs, after 3 years. Since I am only 67, if I am lucky enough to live past 75, I am sure I may need drugs again at some point.

2 Reactions@kplex Very good to know. Thank you so much for your response. I truly appreciate it. 🙏🏻
That's fantastic news! Did the Tymalos improve your TBS scores? My TBS score is bad and I was hoping Tymalos might help it. I was told it might help a little.
