I just received the results of two punch biopsies performed at Mayo Clinic-Rochester last week. The results show Granuloma Annulare (GA). I see an endocrinologist at Mayo-Rochester who was concerned about the widespread lesions on my legs and lower abdomen so he referred me to dermatology at Mayo. I have read the information provided by Mayo as patient education and was taken aback by the mention of finding emotional support. While I believe strongly in seeking support from reputable internet groups (such as Connect), I am upset by the scant information available about treating GA.
I am thankful that GA is benign but the lesions are very noticeable and do sometimes become irritated. Does anyone have more information about GA and treatment options?
