I have been taking Xanax for 25 years for Fibromyalgia and Anxiety. I am trying to wean myself off of it. Has anyone done this?

rascal1, Hi, I use CBD every day in several forms, as a 2-1 tincture in my coffee or tea, or subliminally. For intense pain at an 8 level or more, I will use a 1-1 dose. With the 1-1, I use a slightly smaller dose e.g. 1/2 a dropper.. For quick relief, I use vape cartridges of a hybrid because it works in 15 minutes or less. It doesn’t last as long….maybe 30 minutes or so but the relief is immediate. The other dosages and delivery systems take 30-45 minutes to have impact but last 3 to 4 hours. I share all of my medical marijuana use with my provider team of physicians including my neurologist and even my myofascial massage therapist. I have never used addictive products and have elected never to use opioids of any kind. This is a personal decision. It has required a lot of research and experimentation to get to this point partly because there wasn’t a lot of valid information when I chose this path. Nor were there the product options that are available today. The improvement in my quality of life has been remarkable, for me. I wish you the best and know that it is possible to stay reasonably comfortable with considerable function. Chris

Perhaps there is a misunderstanding here. In my last and I admit, rather lengthy response, I sort of laid out my entire CBD daily regimen. I have been using CBD in some form for 3 years. Would you like me to repost the prior response? I am happy to do so. I also thought that maybe there was a hitch in the get-a-long on "connect" so I am including John in this response.. Chris
Hi @rascal1, Here's Chris's @artscaping post where she went into detail on how she uses CBD and how it's helped her. I see it a few posts above this one.
Hope this helps!

Fantastic that you’ve gotten the help for your pain without opioids!
I’m looking for CBD only without THC for anxiety and depression and there is so much information and so many procucts, it’s difficult to know where to begin.

I use Charlottes Web Hemp oil for my severe anxiety and depression. I just cam off Ativan and Seroquel and it’s helping. It cost around $40 for the small bottle. I just ordered CBD oil from Lazarus and waiting for its delivery
You take both for anxiety and depression?
Chris – Have you had success weaning from Xanax while on cbd oil ?
@rascal1– I have never used CBD oil, but was perscribed Xanax initially with Klonopin when I 1st started taking Klonopin over 20 yrs. ago. My Psychiatrist felt that because Klonopin takes time to build up in our system that he wanted me to have the Xanax for "just in case" instances. I remember having to drive on the freeway to return something and this was one of the things that I had a hard time doing since this was one of the things that brought on one of my initial PA's. I was feeling like I could do it and about halfway I hit this stretch where there was construction going on and they narrowed down the lanes without any shoulders. I went into a panic and pulled off the road the 1st place I could and took my Xanax. I waited a bit, but instead things seem to get worse! I must have been on the side of the road for an hour or more. My wife talked me through things over the cell phone and I never made my original destination, but did make it home just fine. I only tell this story to say that Xanax was never for me, but Klonopin helped me take back my life!
Good you found a med that works for you all these years!
Did you ever get an answer or relief in getting off Xanax? I’m going through Xanax withdrawal now and it’s hell ! Thanks!

Thanks much !
Hi there, @rascal1, this is Mamacita here. Pleasure to meet you, sir. I am impressed with your knowledge of the various products and the method of delivery.
Where I live, the information I have gathered is that we can get a card from our PCP's for certain medical conditions that tend to be chronic in nature. This sllows us to purchase the products that are otherwise illegal at this point in time.
Neither my husband nor myself have taken advantage of this. I know that we need to research this more, as it does appear there are less side effects than the medicines we take for chronic pain.I personally have cut way back on Lyrica, Flexeril, Mobic, etc. I tell my doctors that I need these meds for when I have flares. But I
just cannot see taking them every single day.
Sorry this is so long! I look forward to hearing more from your posts, as I can certainly identify with your attempts to safely conquer pain. Good night and have a great day tomorrow!

I was just wondering if anyone out there is going off of Alprazolem or has already? I am almost 1/2 way weaned off of it. The way I know I am weaning is I have dull headaches everyday, hungry all the time and sone racing of the heart. Can anyone out there relate? I have gone from 2.0 mg a day in October to 1 mg today. Thank you for your help.
I was taking one pill at night for sleeping. I never used it for depression. It stopped working for sleep so I started taking something else. I stopped taking the Xanax right away with no ill effects. Can I ask why you are coming off of it? We’re you using it depression? When in doubt, always talk to your doctor. Good luck and stay strong
Hi, @bvgrammy – just wanted to let you know that I moved your message to this thread you started previously on weaning off Alprazolam(Xanax) so you could update and continue talking with the members here.
Hi, @bvgrammy – just wanted to check in with you and see how you are feeling anxiety-wise since you have now tapered halfway off of the alprazolam (Xanax)?
@rascal1 – how has your weaning off of alprazolam (Xanax) gone? Are you still in this process?
@dianagay – have you taken alprazolam (Xanax) in the past and weaned off of it, as well? How are you doing?
