Getting a second opinion on treatment from Mayo
My Drs are currently discussing their recommendation for my follow up treatment after an ipmn cyst was removed from the tail of my pancreas. The biopsy was done by Mayo and I would like to get a second opinion on a treatment plan from Mayo . How do I go about setting that up ? Will Mayo get all the medical information from my Drs ? Can they meet via a video conference or would I need to travel to Mayo ?
Thanks

I am writing to request urgent consideration for my husband to be evaluated at Mayo Clinic. He is a practicing surgeon at Duke University who was diagnosed with seizures earlier this spring after an episode of 12 hours of disorientation to time and place. Despite multiple normal EEGs, his concerning events have continued, including a recent blackout while driving.
We were informed that no new appointments are currently available, but his condition poses significant risks to his safety, his patients, and the community. Given his role as a surgeon, it is essential that he receives comprehensive evaluation and expert guidance from a center with Mayo Clinic’s depth of experience.
Could you please advise if there is any way to expedite his case for urgent review—whether through an opening in the neurology clinic, referral to a specific specialist, or placement on a priority waitlist? We are willing to travel on short notice to any Mayo location.
We would be deeply grateful for your assistance in helping us find a path forward.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Leslie, your post is in the pancreatic cancer section. I don’t know if anyone can guide you here.
I pray that you are able to find the right resource. Thank you for being his advocate!
