Gastrointestinal problem

Posted by das123 @das123, Mar 26, 2023

I've been experiencing a severe stomach problems like abdominal pain, tarry stoles, narrow stoles, inflammatory disorder, passage of gas frequently, loss in weight and cramps and I have visited many hospitals in and out of my country where CT scan was done, endoscopy and other tests, but I was only informed that I'm suffering from gastrointestinal infection. This has gone for a decade without a cure and it's getting worse. I need help or recommendations. Whenever I read of my symptoms, it leads me to stomach cancer or colon cancer, but I have not been diagnosed of it yet.

I'm not a doctor but it seems to me that if it was cancer it would not have gone on for decades. If it is an infection shouldn't they be able to treat it with medication? Have you gone to a specialist or are you just dealing with a GP?

Thanks for the concern, but I have met several specialists, and I was placed on Nexium and Gaviscon, as I was told that it's gastrointestinal problem.

Those symptoms do sound very concerning. I think you should seek the advice of another gastroenterologist for a second opinion. I have no medical expertise, though, let me be clear about that

I would get a 2.nd opinion from a good ENT

A lot of those symptons sound like C diff. Have you been tested for that? It's just a bowel sample. C diff can be pretty miserable. It's worth a try asking your doc especially when you're at the end of your rope!

My cancer tumor was discovered because I had an abdominal scan due to discomfort. I ended up having e.coli.

Go to your doctor. Don't think the worst. I find myself in your situation whenever I get an ache or pain.

This is hard.

I am having the same exact symptoms as you and have also dealt with it for decades. I am being tested through a Colonoscopy on the 14th of this month and hopefully, prayerfully I will be okay. On my last one they took away eighteen polys which were non-cancerous. The only thing we don't have is bleeding from the rectum which I started over three months ago. Will let you know my results when I get them back but until then hang in there because this is a part of life that we have to go through in order to get better. I also have Breast Cancer to deal with at this time. STAY STRONG !!!

While dealing with the chemotherapy the treatments ended up giving me C diff after being treated i now have to be weary of medications that could aggravate my constant diarrhea. I get no warning when I’m having a bowel movement. It comes out with no warning I’ve been tested for food allergies but it all lead’s back to irritable bowel syndrome IBS. It’s embarrassing not knowing when my bowels move. I now wear a Dependency pad to be safe. I’ve been to GI specialist but no resolutions.
