FYI on Long COVID Awareness Month

Posted by diverdown1 @diverdown1, Feb 16 9:26am

Thank you for your interest in serving as an organizer and/or participant for Long COVID Awareness Events in March. We are holding a short meeting/ Q&A to help get people started and connected and would like to invite you to join us this Thursday at 7pm EST via zoom.

This call will help us further explain what this role entails and answer questions you may have to the best of our ability. Please go through our email which includes a preparation guide here. Please pay special attention to the letters and meeting requests, and information related to street teams and light it up teal events. This is where you will be helping! Long COVID Awareness Month Preparation Guide.

After this meeting, we will ask once more who wishes to be an organizer. We also welcome those who indicated they wish to participate instead of organize, to still become organizers if after this meeting it appeals to you. Serving as an organizer means serving as the point of communication and organizer for your state and team members for any or all of the following actions:

Meetings

Street Teams

Light-Up Teal Events

After this, we will then connect others in your state, with you, as the state organizer, and you will then communicate with the C19LAP team.

Long COVID Awareness Month is two weeks away! Long COVID Awareness Day and week is a month away! Now is the time to amp up outreach, land meetings, and plan visibility and education actions.

We hope to see you at the meeting!

thank you for all you do to raise awareness. I can barely push myself through a demanding fulltime job I have to keep for health insurance and pension. If I had any energy at all, I would love to help, but six years out, I am no better. thank you for representing those of us who are barely getting through each day. we are still here, even if only shadows of our former selves.

@klf58 I am merely passing on information I receive. I, too, have a hard time functioning. When I receive any information about awareness or surveys, research, etc., I post it for all of us still battling this. Hang in there.
