Did anyone else decide to not have radiation?

I am 69 with hormone positive and her2-Stage 1 (14 mm) Grade 1.

Radiologist comfortable with me foregoing radiation treatment.

Anyone experience similar situation?

@katrii

I used Aquafor (they recommended) in the beginning, 3X/day; as it got itchy I switched to CeraVe Itch Relief (saved me!). Palmer’s was recommended…but not as good as CeraVe, available on Amazon. They also said they had prescription level creams, but I never asked for that. In looking back, I might have to save money (depending on your insurance plan). Stayed out of the sun and didn’t let shower water hit my chest directly.

EUROPA 2 year trial results from subcohort discussed at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium reported better quality of life with radiation alone than with endocrine therapy alone for older patients. Over age 70, stage 1, luminal A, bc patients (not just ILC) and lumpectomy. “Final results from the EUROPA trial, including long term recurrence and survival data, will further clarify the roles of Radiotherapy and endocrine therapy in this population.”

I saw this reported in Medpagetoday.com, 12/13/24.
