For Females with Bladder Cancer - Trouble with Administering BCG

Posted by ebug @ebug, 1 day ago

Hello everyone and sorry that we're here talking about this.

I've just gotten the diagnosis that my bladder cancer has returned for the third time. It's been two days since the confirmation and my mind keeps going back to the same thing, could the errors in administering BCG be causing this?

I've had two rounds of treatment. Both times, I've missed weeks because the medical personnel injecting the BCG has put it in my vagina thinking it was the urethra. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this common?

I’m so sorry that you are going through this. I didn’t experience the same issue where they injected the BCG treatment into your vagina instead of uretha. I did have 3 BCG treatments and then I had severe side effects from treatment so they changed to Gem/doc treatments. I did have one reoccurrence of a tumor between the BCG and chemo treatments. Are you at a facility that specializes in bladder cancer? After the BCG treatment failed I went for a second opinion at a facility that specializes in bladder cancer and if you are in a position to do this it may give you a peace of mind concerning the treatments. I’m praying for you and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
