folliculitis/swollen lymph node/acne

Posted by jessisconcerned @jessisconcerned, Jun 2, 2021

i’ve had a swollen lymph node in my groin area for quite some time. i went to the np and they told me that its due to folliculitis. i’ve been taking medication to get rid of the issue, and i have about 10 days left of medication. the lymph node went down, but then got inflamed again after i started shaving. should i be worried and take another trip to the clinic after i finish my medication? (doxycycline)
I’m also prone to acne and cyst, and boils on my back, chest, face, groin and anywhere where i sweat and i’m wondering if this has anything to do with it.

Jess, Have you tried taking a SITZ bath?
(Add ½ cup (125 mL) of baking soda or ¼ cup (75 mL) of salt to the bath water. Swirl the water until the baking soda or salt is dissolved. 5. Carefully enter the bath, sit down and soak your bottom area for 10 to 15 minutes.)

yes, a bit. i stopped using hot compresses after the swelling went down the first time. i find that searching the internet isn’t helping my anxiety.
i’ll have to try the bath, that’s one thing i did not try. 🙂
