Anyone else on Enhertu? What's your experience? How long?

Posted by earnoldnpr @earnoldnpr, Jun 8, 2024

Hi. 64 year old with stage IV serous endometrial. A year out after many rounds of chemo (carbo, taxol, herceptin) and major surgery, was NED for 6 months. New tumor now pushing against duadenum and some other nodules showing up. Started on Enhertu a week ago and am just flattened with nausea and no energy. Worried I can’t keep this up for many rounds? Taking zofram.. not much help.
Does it get easier? Harder? Drugs that help? Looking for any and all advice as staying active is my coping mechanism. Thanks to all in advance.

Hi...I just complete4d my 4th infusion of enhertu and I'm feeling much better after this last treatment. I have not been nauseous although my appetite has been affected, many foods do not appeal to me until about 11 days after a treatment when I start feeling 100%fine. I have lost some hair but generally feel well enough to continue my weekly exercise routine, which includes 4 mile walks, pilates and pickleball. I am hopeful that as the treatments continue, my body will adjust and I will feel great after a few days as opposed to 10-11 days.. I'm told that treatment with enhertu has no end date...as my doctor says" it's a marathon not a sprint". As long as it keeps cancer at bay , I'll keep on keeping on ! My next scan is August 12th and I'm very hopeful that there will be NED !! My CA 125 has gone from 75 to 16 which is a good indicator..

@alohman08 Welcome. This is encouraging. I hope you can continue with your activity level as I’m sure that helps you health-wise and with your own mental health. The decrease in your CA125 is also encouraging. I love what your oncologist told you “it’s a marathon not a sprint”. So, you keep going and going.

Your next scan date is around the corner on the calendar. Hoping your scan is NED!!

Do you have another infusion before August 12?

I know this is a bit late, over a year late, but I just anted to report on the meds I'm taking while on ENHERTU:
SANDOZ PANTOPRAZOLE for heartburn
AKYNZEO – caused severe constipation and stopped taking it
Switched to EMEND (APREPITANT)
SANDOZ ONDANSETRON pre-chemo along with PMS-DEXAMETHASONE
I am still experiencing GI challenges, but constipation has largely been resolved after I stopped AKYNZEO.
I'm about to begin my 8th cycle.

Hi Helen,
Yes my next infusion is July 30th....never something that I look forward to ! but if it keeps cancer at bay, I'll continue to do what needs to be done...BTW I am 77 years young and was diagnosed in april of 2021 with stage 1A uterine serous carcinoma. I had a complete hysterectomy followed by radiation...was told likelihood of recurrence was quite high and in September 2022 it returned in my omentum...after 6 rounds of chemo and herceptin I was cancer free ...I continued with the herceptin every three weeks no side effects...echo cardiograms every 12 weeks ( all good ) July of 2024 CA 125 started to trend up...a PET scan in April 2025 confirmed 2 tiny pelvic nodes lite up....Dr. said I could put off treatment until after the summer....my thoughts....why put off the inevitable. !! So i had my first treatement with enhertu in early May 2025.
I'm told that enhertu is a very effective targeted chemo but a treatment with no end unlike the chemo I had in 2022. I'm lucky I feel pretty great most of the time and have responded well to treatment....I just hope that enhertu will provide me with good scan that show NED !!! I have never met anyone with the same kind of nasty cancer that I have...I'm hoping that through this site I will be able to share my journey with someone who has the same cancer that I have !
