Finishing Evenity, now what?
I am on my 11th shot with only 1 to go. I am going to pay out of pocket for a new Dexa scan and hopefully I see some improvements, I also have my endocrinologist appointment after my last shot. I know everyone is different but what was your treatment after evenity? What questions should I be asking? My last conversation with my endocrinologist was we need to start reclast after my last shot but I'm confused because I started Evenity to avoy reclast so I'm at a loss at what other options I could have? If you have any advise I'd appreciate it.

@rudysmom Wish I could take collagen. I have tried a couple types: Amy Myers brand, and Algae Cal. Since I have IBS and sensitive stomach, I found both of them troublesome. I just am not up to the experimentation with digestive pain these days. Wish I could find a way to get more protein. I seem to do well with red meat, but husband does not, so I can't have beef as often as I like. I am blood type O and he is A. He can eat tons of fruits and veggies without issue.

I don’t have any clue about IBS. Are you able to eat bread? If so I found (by accident) Kontos Greek pita bread. It has 15gm protein and 300gm of calcium in it. It has 180 calories which isn’t more than 2 pieces of bread. Not sure where you live. I live in Michigan, so if you’re in the states you should be able to find it. The amount calcium in it shocked me. It’s formulated to act like Greek yogurt. Also has less carbs and sugar than other pita breads. I really like it so somehow it’s probably bad for me. LOL
Was wondering if anyone felt stronger as evenity course began...Also anyone who can say the evenity helped a lot?
@rudysmom
If I was you, with your age and Tscores, I would spend much of my time looking into HRT therapy and finding a decent doctor who can help me with that.
You seem to be looking at and trying many different things. If you do improve, how will you know what might be most responsible for that result.
Targeted exercise and diet as well as looking into HRT would be my chosen path. (But I am an ovarian cancer survivor and have been advised that HRT should be avoided. I wish that was not the case.)

2 ReactionsI'm at my last Evenity infusion next month and I know that my provider is recommending Reclast. I've had Tymlos and then Evenity. It looks like a choice between Reclast and Prolia, so I think I'll go with Reclast.
I'm not happy with being on long-term meds, but I'm not on anything else and keep reminding myself that all sorts of medications are forever to prevent worse (heart meds, blood pressure, diabetes ...) and I would hate fractures even more than I hate the meds!

3 Reactions@rudysmom Thanks for the tip. I live in southeast Pennsylvania. I am gluten free, so only eat gluten free breads.
@wizdum
They do make a gluten free wrap but it only has 5 grams protein and 49gm or calcium. Trying to figure out food is never easy. 🤦🏼♀️

I’m curious if you will be having a dexa at the end of Evenity. I’m interested if Evenity increased your hip BMD as that is my trouble spot. I’ve been on Tymlos for nearly 2 years. My hip went from -3.6 to -3.1 in the first year so I still have a lot of work to do. I would like to do another dexa in June to see if spine continued to improve but won’t be able to measure hips due to hardware. Thanks!
