Fiducial markers implant and SpaceOar Gel
Just had my markers put in and my SpaceOar gel inserted. It was a piece of cake so far and no feeling of fullness in the bowel at all. I was expecting to feel it or know it was there but nothing at all.

It’s extra money. I insisted on the local and I got thru it just fine. But I got an infection from the procedure so I guess the doctor got even
Well maybe the Dr, from patient experience, thought that it would be beneficial for you and/or an easier and more accurate placement.
I was lucky as I got no infection. Question is how do you get an infection if the area is disinfected and the gel and makers are sterile?
I was not given an answer. They blamed the gel.
Not surprised at that. My daughter works in the pharmaceutical industry auditing manufacturing plants and she tells me things.
Where did he have it done? How is he now?
Mayo Rochester. RO said it slipped down a bit. He is totally fine now and no damage to bowels!
Had SpaceOAR implantation three days ago. Today perineum is still sore. Can't sit upright. Need to semi-recline. Painful to do a Kegel maneuver when urinating. Mild stinging at head of penis when urinating. I am almost 73 and very lean. Tell them you want regular, mildly sticky tape on the dressing. They put a stretchy incredibly sticky tape on me that is used to hold stitched incisions closed. Totally unnecessary for my puncture wounds. Was hell to remove, especially when they did not shave the hair in the taped area first, and also if you live alone and can't see the tape. The pain pulling the hairs out of one of the most sensitive parts of a person's body was over the top. I had Propophal for the implantation procedure. Unfortunately, they had the iv port and the blood pressure cuff on the same arm. At maximum compression, the cuff stopped the infusion and the pain of feeling that my vessel was about to blow out was excruciating. Hope I will feel better in four days when I have my CT scan planning session. Best of luck to all!
