Female problems
Hello I had total hysterectomy in 2005. This last year im not able to have an a single day without pain where my female organs were, no matter what I am doing, even sitting still. I'm no longer able to have sex without extreme pain. I went to my OB and she recommended more sex. Please help...

Good evening @yorkiemomma2022 and welcome to Connect. I am a mentor for other groups than "Women's Health". However, I just couldn't let your post go by without saying hello and helping to get you started.
You can also use the search bar at the top of this page. Enter something like "hysterectomy pain" and press the spyglass. That should introduce you to other members who can share their experiences with you.
My mother had a lot of problems with her female organs. I remember that after her hysterectomy my Dad put 10 or 12-inch blocks under the legs at the foot of the bed. Evidently, that made her more comfortable to have her feet above her heart.
What are you using to control your pain? Have you ever thought of using medical cannabis?
May you be free of suffering and the causes of suffering.

I think I would get a 2nd opinion. Have you discussed with your primary provider? It may not be related to female organs, especially seeing the pain started 15 years after surgery.

This may not be the best place to start but I don't know where to start. I had a hysterectomy about 40 years ago that left me with one ovary. Now with checking out for infection in bladder they found cysts on my ovary. I had a vaginal ultrasound and confirmed that they are cysts. Doctors want me to have an MRI but said that would take four to six months, so they made an appointment with a gynecologist for Dec. 12. My sister had ovarian cance4 and an aunt died from it. How do I get this thing moving? What symptoms are there? Thanks in advance.
Sorry about your ovary problem. Can’t help with that, however for bladder infection, once it is treated with antibiotics I increased my water drinking and made sure that during the evening I drink two large glasses of water and before bed I take a cranberry capsule. Also I make sure to get up at least once to urinate during the night. Since doing this I have not had any more bladder infections. Also any time I defecate I wipe myself very well from front to back. I never use suppositories because leftover glycerin can make its way towards the urethra without being aware of it. Laxatives are better forme if I need one.
I used to have frequent UTI's , and that was very frustrating. I finally broke down and bought one of those Bidet type toilet seats, and that was one of my better purchases! I don't need to wipe anymore, because my rear end gets shower clean each time. It was really nice after I had vulva/vaginal surgery early this year, I washed myself after peeing and number two.
I can recommend it really to get one of those seats.

My son and family have had the Bidet type toilet seats for a couple of years and recommend them also. I rarely got an UTI and can't remember the last time that happened. I do drink a lot of water and am careful and also use wipes after using the bathroom. It's a habit now. I am also very active and try not to sit for extended periods of time. A lot of people who use wheelchairs and prone to UTIs.
You prompted me to look into that type of toilet seat again...it was a funny sensation the first time I used it at my son's house and I like the option that you don't have to use it all the time.

Also for those who are prone to getting UTI’s I find that sex in the typical missionary position is best I.e. lying on my back rather than being on top is safer. Depending on your body type I think it’s best to assume a position that puts minimal friction on the urethra. Also, wash the whole area with soap and water or wipes after defecating.
Thank you for that . The cysts were found accidentally and I have an MRI on the 7th of December.
If I didn't take suppositories I would not go for weeks and when that happens I will go for a walk or something and will explode, but I can't feel it coming til it's there.
Do you adjust the water temperature on the bidet toilet seats and if so how would that be accomplished?
I used to be very prone to UTIs until I began drinking two full glasses of water during the evening, taking a cranberry capsule with the water and getting up at least once during the night to urinate and empty my bladder. Good luck with your MRI. It is certainly important to find a solution to your fecal problem. I do find that at age 75 I don’t always feel when I need to defecate so I have developed the habit of thinking about it and that seems to help me go at the right time.
