Fecal Microbiota Transplant (FMT)
I have been researching this procedure and the success occurring with C Diff and now some success with curing ulcerative colitis.
My 43 year old son has severe recurring kidney stones ( lithrotripsy every 8-10 weeks) and he had medullary sponge kidney and ulcerative colitis, both of which can cause kidney stones.
Our hope is that if the FMT cured his ulcerative colitis, and IF that was the cause of his kidney stones he may be cured. Does anyone have any experience please?

@stuckonu I think we have all questioned the science behind the FMT but it’s genius when you consider the microbiome of the gut. Crazy. It’s gross to think about but I just had to get passed that.
Has anyone with Crohn's had a fecal transplant with positive results? Any information would be appreciated.
Hello @sandyjr,
We have had members post about fecal transplants. While we wait for others to post, I thought you might find this Mayo video interesting, Are you considering a fecal implant for Crohn's disease?

@sandyjr I just reread your post and saw that you have Crohns. My doc said that he hoped I would benefit from the FMT for Crohns as well. It would be hard to know since I had C Diff too, but he said he was aware that it is being tested for that purpose and he is optimistic that maybe it will he really helpful for Crohns!!!
