Faslodex. has anyone had pain during the injection w/ lasting lump
I get the Faslodex shots on each buttocks at same time. This last visit (3rd) one of the shots pained me going down into my foot. Thinking she may have hit a nerve! It hurt for almost two weeks and the swelling is still at injection site. Over two weeks later. I am trying to rub it away but it is not leaving. I am afraid my next shot is going to be awful.
Anyone have this happen??

@ejl, you sound worn out, which is understandable. Changing treatment protocols, finding dosages that work for you is exhausting. I'm not surprised that you feel depressed. I'm sending a virtual hug for what little that may help.
I had the nurse that is THE BEST at shots yesterday and he is retiring today. BOOOOO So far just a little sore. I forgot the ice trick i will remember next time. I am glad you find Kisqali not to be too bad, that's encouraging. Good luck Thursday!
I hope they can find the appropriate regimen for you.
Ask to see the doctor immediately.
I spoke with my doctor who then reminded the nurse to take the time to put the shot in . And to make sure I ice before and after.
I also went for a massage to help drain that area. I still have the lump but it is not as large now.
My nurse tells me that injecting it slowly is very important, but the most important thing is that it be room temperature. It is refrigerated but needs to be out and warming for several hours before the injection. Ask if it is, and wait if it isn't!
My nurse first warms my Faslodex syringes for 20 minutes with a rubber glove filled with warm water. When the injection hurts because she is injecting too quickly, I say, "Stop," then she resumes after a few seconds. I don't need ice.
I have had shots given about 6 times now with now problem, once a month. The last time it left a knot at the injection site. When I complained the next time I went in for a shot the nurse said it was a side effect of Faslodex. But I believe she did not give the shot slow enough. Of course she would never admit that. I asked if it would ever go away & she said "doubtful." Great ! Some say put ice on it some say heat. So which is it???
I have found ice works before and after. I ice for at least 15 min right before injection and as long as I can after. I drive home with ice packs. I actually bring a cooler sometimes since it has been hot. good luck
I’m a retired nurse and I’ve been on Faslodex for 14 months. The first 2 months I had a moderate amount of pain and bruising at injection site. I used a cold compress after. Now I have numbness along the injection site areas.
I agree that the technique of the nurse doing the injection is important. Z track method is less irritating. Hope this helps.
