Farapulse Ablation Procedure

Has anyone here heard of this type of ablation procedure? I think it’s pretty new.

I will be visiting with my Electrophysiology doctor next month to discuss if I might need an ablation treatment for the tachycardia I developed following an ablation procedure for AFIB. (It did resolve the AFIB but left me with a rapid heart rate.) Thanks

I just read an article that this Farapulse procedure is now being performed at the center my Doctor is at and would like to discuss it with him. I can’t find much info about it. Thanks

It's just one of many platforms for a new type of ablation process known generically as 'pulse field ablation' that was trialed at selected hospitals in the USA, Canada, and in the UK and EU during 2022/23. It only uses electrical fields that disrupt cell membranes and kill them instead of using thermal/radio energy.

There are 2 new systems using pulsed (energy) field for treating Arrhythmias in the US. There are claims the the new technics are less invasive with less side effects than RFA.
They are hundreds of articles written about this methods.
The following article claims to provide detailed differences between radio frequency ablation (RFA) which uses heat to destroy heart tissue and electrical "pulsed field" ablations which used energy/electricity to destroy heart tissue.
