Extreme pain in my left eye that last all day

Posted by bethkcyr @bethkcyr, 1 day ago

I get extreme headaches in my left eye which can last almost a full 24hrs. The pain is almost unbearable I feel like removing my eye or asking for someone to put me out of my misery. Along with the pain, the left side of my face feels congested, and my left nostril gets clogged. No remedy or over the counter pain medication elevates the pain; I have to just ride it out with an ice pack over the area to try to numb the pain. The headache episodes seem to happen every spring and autumn and reoccur once every week.
These types of headaches started in my late twenties very sporadically. However, once I hit 40, they happened all the time and I'll be 50 in two years. I'm a female, never smoked a day in my life and I never ever drink alcohol. I do have a stressful job, and I do seem to have many triggers- stress, biometric pressure, aromas - perfumes, glare from the sun, and certain foods/drinks such as lemonade.
Does anyone deal with the same type of headache as me? Any suggestions on how to make these headaches go away?

@bethkcyr welcome. If I were you, I would start with an appointment with a good Ophthalmologist doctor (not Optometrist). While waiting for eye doctor appointment, I would call and get an appointment with a neurologist.

Keep us informed on your progress, if you would like.
Blessings
