Extreme nausea as a side effect of Tagrisso

My sister is on Tagrisso, 80mg. She often suffers from nausea and, sometimes, periods of extreme vomiting, which requires emergency hospitalization. Is anyone else dealing with nausea as a side effect? She also has some heart issues, but that does not seem to be taken into account. Thoughts?

This sounds awful ! So sorry about your sister’s suffering … there are many nausea meds…dehydration is serious…must be addressed sooner than later ! seems like her team needs to be engaged—or getting docs who take side effects seriously…have you looked into palliative care for these side effects ? Wishing your sister and you relief and better days.

@frane I'm sorry your sister is dealing with extreme nausea. I agree with @nycmusic that it's important to let her oncologist know right away so that you can prevent dehydration. nausea is not an expected side effect of Tagrisso. I took it for 2.5 years and I had issues with tachycardia, diarrhea, skin rashes and hair loss - but no nausea. has your sister had a brain MRI recently? what is her diagnosis? it's really sweet and supportive of you to search for things that might help her feel better. 🙏🏻
