Extreme amounts of phlegm

Hola AYUDA mi esposo ha pasado por 4 cirugías de nariz, cartílagos, cornetes y hasta le quitaron úvula palatina (campanilla) todo esto a lo largo de su vida desde los 18 años, ahora tiene 42 y siiiiiempre a sufrido mucho, pero desde hace varios años para acá, sufre de EXCESO EXTREMO de flema con moco, tiene que estar escupiendo todo el día (desagradable) se pone peor cuando se acuesta, no duerme, siente que se ahoga, todos los días le duele muchísimo la cabeza, ha desfilado por muchísimos otorrinos y alergólogos y no encuentra solución a su problema, ha tomado miles de antialérgicos, ha usado miles de sprays nasales, solicion salina, lavados de nariz, nada, nada, nada funciona, estamos SUMAMENTE DESESPERADOS esto está afectando su diario vivir, su humor le afecta muchísimo de la desesperación y no encontramos una respuesta, alguien ha pasado por esto???
o si por favor nos pudiera decir a qué medico debe acudir?? Quisieramos ir a Mayo Clinic a la Florida, pero no sabemos a que doctor debemos ir, ayuda por favor!!!

I have the exact same problem as your husband with the extreme phlegm. I have tried a lot of the same med's and ENT Doctors also. I am able to sleep at night which gives me some relief but when I start the day the phlegm starts too and last all day into the late evening. I am constantly clearing my throat due to this. I am hoping to be able to see an allergist Dr. at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix for help. I hope your husband can get help with his problem. Please post any updates here.

I had covid last year around July of 22 and few months after started getting clear/white phlegm and mucus. it's coming from the head, no cough. Went to an ENT under his care for 3 months he tried antibiotics, sprays, CT scan of sinus, shows all good. During the day, I can get by but during the evening I have to get up from bed and spit this white phlegm, which my lips get sticky too. I am constantly spraying saline do it all but it doesn't change.

I have no pain; my appetite is good I function, but it has changed my life and not for the good. The last suggestion from the ENT he said he has no idea what else to do only Nasal Cryoablation, (freeze nerve in nose).
Reading up on this procedure I don't like the idea of the side effects. Also, my nasal drip is going down my throat doesn't run out of my nose. My life changed after Covid. Any ideas of what doctor might know what to do or what to do. Has anyone experience this daily just white mucus and phlegm spit up.Thank you, John

Having allergies, I have years of experiences dealing with sinus drainage down the back of my throat. I have not had covid so I can’t address your exact issues.

Following a tooth extraction caused by a cracked root I had severe sinus inflammation. My ENT prescribed nasal irrigation using a NeilMed squeeze bottle with a mixture of Neilmed saline packet in distilled water. That can be used often to flush the sinuses. She then added a tablet of Dexamethasone to be dissolved in the mixture. Dexamethasone is a steroid and acts as an anti-inflammatory. It should be used only for a prescribed length of time and always with the saline pack to prevent burning in the sinus. Always use distilled water which can be bought at every grocery, Walmart, etc. very cheaply. That way you eliminate any chemicals in your local water.

I am having same problem also, have no idea where this is coming from. I think I quit breathing at night due to phlegm. I am tired all the time, affecting my hearing, sinuses and throat. Last night I tried a breathe right nasal strip extra strength, seemed to help open up and clear out some of it. Will keep checking in to other comments. Embarrassing to cough it up all day.
