What can I expect during my first visit to Mayo Clinic? (Rochester)

Hi all.
Monday is my first time visiting Mayo in Rochester. I can feel my anxiety creeping in.
I have two appointments. One at 11 for labs, the other at 130 to visit Dr. Monica Flores Navaro, an Endocrinologist.
The appointment with her is for one hour.
What should I expect during that first visit?
Does anyone ever literally write down questions to ask?

Lots of fantastic suggestions that I agree with. I will add my anxiety skyrocketed the day of my first appt. I arrived an hour early to my first appt I was so afraid of missing the opportunity to meet with a Mayo specialist. Arriving early for me was calming and allowed me to acclimate, relax and mentally prepare myself. There are so many wonderful staff and volunteers at Mayo who are willing to assist you and answer questions. It is true that you arrive with questions and leave with answers.

@sab1969 So many great suggestions! I would add to make sure you share how your conditions or symptoms affect your life. The provider may draw conclusions based on symptoms, but sharing the limitations caused by your condition helps them understand and document the need or urgency for treatment.
I often think to myself ahead of time “I will like the Dr and they will like me”. It helps to go in planning to like them.
Mayo Rochester is a huge place, I would also suggest you download a map of the buildings to plan how you get from one appt. to the next. I personally love taking the hotel shuttle as the pick up and drop off without worry about traffic, construction and parking.
Lastly, I usually plan a reward dinner somewhere I like afterwards as often you need to fast for labs. My hotel shuttle will drop off and pick up at restaurants or shopping in the afternoon or evening.

The Endocrinology clinic is excellent. Never had a problem of "Don't keep the doctor waiting". That's probably why I have never felt rushed to finish the visit or "Your allotted 15 minutes are up" and send you on your way. The doctors take the time that you need. Ask all the questions you need to ask. Labs are very efficient. You can see test results in your patient portal within a few hours. Lots of volunteers and staff to assist you in getting you where you need to be. It's okay to be anxious on a new adventure. Your experience will make good dinner conversation.
