Evenity pain

Posted by jeanniebeannie54 @jeanniebeannie54, Oct 25, 2022

I have had 3 months of evenity and my left hip, thigh and buttock are so very painful I can hardly stand, lay down and not walk. Anyone experiencing horrible pain. Help.

My rheumatologist is going to check my calcium level when I get my next injection on December 14th. I hope the same thing doesn’t happen. If it does, I may have to stop Evenity.

All of these drugs seem to be very personal meaning that everyone has wildly different reactions to them.
I’ve had three Evenity injections and seem to do okay with it. The only side effect is that I am very tired the next day.

Are you saying you feel extra tired only on the day after the injections of Evenity?

Oh I appreciate your long message. I freaked out yesterday and messaged my doctor about letting me just do the reclast infusion so I can think about the Evenity for another year. It may be the wrong choice, but I am legit petrified over this. I tend to jump in with both feet without thinking things through, but this, for some unknown reason, is stressing me out like I have never been stressed before :o( I just hope I'm not making the wrong decision by waiting another year. I looked into getting a second opinion also, but without a referral I'm not able to and I can't bring myself to ask my doctor for a referral to another doctor for their opinion :o( I just wish this was an easy decision to make. I appreciate your information beyond words :o) Hugs, Sheri

just replied to someone on another subject area about this - somehow my original mayo clinic account that i forgot password to got lost but it still exists because i can't use that user name - ANYWAY yes that Evenity is so so frightening they are all frightening to me but I just got some scores back that are worse despite ALgaecal walking with weighted vest standing most of the day to use lap top wt lifting (just 20 pounds at most, not the 80 or so I think that LIFTMOR would suggest but I am trying to work up ) anyway all scores 4-6% worse says my doctor and still - as she did in 2020 - wants me on Evenity. I have friends on Reclast somehow that is less scary BUt havingn to then stay on a fosomax type forever afterwords doesn't sound great either I read about this new procedure on clinical trials.org, LOEP Local Osteo Enhancement Procedure I would so much rather do that than the drugs.

Have they offered for you to self inject the Evenity ? That is my plan to self inject. Can I also ask you what your T score was of your spine. My t score is -4.6. I am also very anxious about starting this.

Wow, you are the first person I have seen with a T-score in the -4 range. Mine was -4.7 and after two years of Tymlos my score was -4.1. Still a pretty serious T-score, but an improvement anyway. Starting Evenity in a couple weeks. Did not know anything about self-injection, but I will ask when I go.

I’m on Evenity and being followed by a rheumatologist and an endocrinologist. Both of them want me to go on oral meds after the Evenity.
I also have Keith McCormick’s book and he does say the same. I found that reassuring.

Hmm. I consult with Dr. McCormick and after two years on Tymlos, I am about to start one year of Evenity. He then wants me to do two years of Prolia (I think) and not sure after that since it is years away. Maybe Reclast.

-3.8 to -2.1 in spine, -2.8 to -2.7 in hip, -2.5 to -2.1 in pelvis

I’m a retired RN. It’s not that hard to self inject.

My T score in my spine was -4.6 and after a year on Evenity it is now -3.3. I have had 2 doses of Prolia and will do another DEXA in August.

Thank you. Yes it was a great improvement. It was hard with side effects but after several months those resolved.
