Evenity pain

Posted by jeanniebeannie54 @jeanniebeannie54, Oct 25, 2022

I have had 3 months of evenity and my left hip, thigh and buttock are so very painful I can hardly stand, lay down and not walk. Anyone experiencing horrible pain. Help.

My pain from Evenity is gone now. I stopped in February 2023 and pain was pretty much gone by July. It took a few months. Foxomax then caused similar issue but not as bad so I switched to Actonel. Have been on that for two months with no adverse reactions. Hope that helps those considering Evenity. Everyone is different so don't let your medical professional make you feel like it is in your head if you are in pain. I am pleased with the results of Evenity but was difficult after 6 months of injections. I am glad I kept going to the 11th month of injections but wouldn't want to do it again! Hoping the Actonel and exercise, diet I am continuing keep my numbers stable.

After 6 months of Evenity two of my lower front teeth broke. Following that I had to have two additional teeth extracted. I stopped the Evenity immediately as I had not been informed of potential tooth problems while I was on Evenity. My Rheumatologist never mentioned issues with teeth while on the drug. Now after two extractions, I am now healing suffering from aching and bad headaches after three weeks. Oral surgeon states it could take longer to heal. I will not be going back on evenity

I just had my first infusion of Evenity yesterday afternoon with no side effects so far. When did your pains begin? Was if after the first infusion?
I am so sorry for your suffering. And hope it will not continue.

When did these effects on your teeth begin? I had my first infusion yesterday without any reactions yet. I am so sorry for your suffering, and pray that it will cease with your medical help. Were you taking your vitamin supplements? Did your dentist check your teeth prior to the beginning of Evenity?

REPLY

There was no checking with a dentist because the clinic did not advise me of any concerns for dental issues, just were absorbed in the fact that my broken arm indicated just dust remained. Bone density tests here are waist down. No proper info in the beginning just trying to fix lack of bone density, reaction to arm fractures, in my history or conversation would have alerted the medical group to look at risk of dental/tooth breakdown.

I was fine until month 6 or 7. I then had very bad hip pain initially then every muscle and joint ached so it was very difficult to get dressed etc. I’m 67 active and never had arthritis but felt like I had it thru out my body. I discontinued after 11 months and it took 6 months for those effects to go away. I would have quit after 7 or 8 had I known most bone building happens in first half of series. Had great gains in spine and very little improvement other sites. Just listen to your body as all are different. I was told it wasn’t from Evenity but it was. On Actonel now and am fine. Hope this helps!

Thank you lauratys. I am so sorry that you had to suffer such dire consequences, and glad that you have found a solution that works for you. I will take your experience with this still young pharmaceutical into account and discuss these issues with my endocrinologist.

Hi,
I have had 4 months of Evenity and last week had a gum abscess and was put on antibiotics . That was a first . Was never told that Evenity could cause any teeth issues. In fact you worry if you have to have any teeth extracted due to osteonecrosis of the jaw .
Did you start another medication ? So you keep your gains .

What's the point of keeping someone on for more than six months if most of the bone building is for the first six months?
