Epidural for Lumbar pain - good experiences?
I was at the Spine Center this morning and told them that the facet joint injections did not help at all. They looked at MRI again and said they want to try an Epidural and that I would need my wife, or someone to drive me home, as my leg might be numb.
Has anyone had a good experience with this injection for relieving lumbar pain?

If the Dr gets it in the right spot, it can help. I have had several, but they only help about 6 week at most. My Dr suggested PT when really helped strengthen my core, which heled my back.

5 ReactionsI have had three epidurals over the course of 4 years. For me the offered good pain relief but they seem to lose their effectiveness after a year. Good luck.

I started with PT but could only do limited therapy due to the pain.

You have to repeat them every year or so IF they work. If I was in your shoes I'd get another one pronto

2 ReactionsMy experience has been very good. The injections give me 3-4 months of complete relief.
The first pain management Dr. didn’t quite hit the mark, then I fortunately found a Dr. who’s hit the spot every time.
