Endometriosis spread on bcp - now deep infiltrating endometriosis

Hi! I just had an MRI and my first visit at Mayo, and I’m in a similar boat as you. I have DIE, stage 4, and the endo is now attached to my colon. I had excision surgery 5 years ago. I have a lot of pain, bladder and bowel symptoms.

Mayo told me to go on hormonal birth control, and have surgery. I am planning to have surgery, and am considering a hysterectomy too. You’re not alone ❤️

I am a 80 year old lady and have had years of issues. In my childhood I had severe seizures many times. Two times severe enough for the doctors to call the Priest to administer the last rights. No answers to why this kept happening and was told I would grow out of it, in my teen years they went away. As I aged, I got married and it was determined that I was infertile, I went through 7 years of tests, various surgeries, they found endometriosis, took all the drugs they advised, I was put into a false pregnancy for about six months. Nothing ever helped. Fortunately my husband and I then had quite a few years with no issues. In 1995 as we were planing to move from Mass to Fl. I injured my arm, needed a rotator cuff surgery left arm my primary arm and hand. We moved to a golf community went back to work and we golfed whenever we had the time. Then in 1995 I have pain in my right shoulder had to have rotator cuff surgery on that arm. In 1996 I found a lump in my right breast and was with diagnosed with Cancer. Went through Chemo, Radiation was put in trial program for 5 years taking Anastrozole. From day one of all that I just tried to stay positive, tried to smile no matter how I felt. I pushed myself to continue my life the way we were, happy and fun, it worked! Then in 2007 I had a hernia, 2008 I had a Cervical Spinal Fusion, In 2011, I seemed to lose the feeling in the first joint of my fingers right hand it tingled and felt like they were asleep. I started a long and frustrating journey as that feeling spread slowly to my shoulder. By now my hand and arm have no feeling. I went to the doctor that had done the CSF, he said it had nothing to do with him, suggested a neurologist, went to him, had MRI, was told to go to PT, which did nothing. Changed to another doctor said I needed surgery, (no name) however he couldn’t do anything unless I went to PT, yet again. Went to PT half through re-evaluated found no changed in my abilities or pain and told to stop! My arm is getting number & number. My only choice is reverse shoulder replacement with no gaurantee it will help. Choose not to. Then went across the state for there opinion, told I had End Stage Aurtheritis in my right arm. Followed up with another Doctor there whom tried Cortisone shots and Epidurals, no help. Oops I forgot 3 Carpal Tunnel Releases and 1 Cupital Tunnel Realease. NO HELP. 2017 I had a special surgery for Carpal Tunnel guite a way up my arm. I just went from doctor to doctor with no answers or any suggestions. Oh yes, one of the doctors on my journey put me on Gabapentin 3 @ day. Didn’t help cure, just helped tingling, pins and needles along with frozen hand. Primary Care throughout this every 6 Months. Finally put a name to my useless arm Neuropathy. Found that I had two compressed nerves from the fusion plate placed 2008 CSF. Fast forward- - - 2 Major Surgeries Surgeries one day apart, first to take out plate and then second to put a rod down my spine! 10 days in the hospital, 10 days in inhouse PT, then at home with nurse and PT. While home I passed out twice and had to call EMS each time caused by one of the drugs they gave. NOW the only thing those two surgeries helped was the nagging pain in my neck. AT THIS TIME, I AM HOME BUT HELPLESS AN STILL CANNOT GET ANSWERS. JUST WANT TO SOCIALIZE, SMILE AND LAUGH 🩵 TO ALL STAY STRONG AND SMILE

The last surgery did not help your arm pain??
