I've had fibromyalgia since 1989. Have been taking cyclobenzaprine and it still works (except for those times I tell myself 'I'm cured' and stop. Then all the symptoms come back in full force. ) Now I've been diagnosed with AFib and prescribed Eliquis 5 mg bid.
Frankly, I'm afraid of this stuff. But I don't want a stroke and I don't want to take Eliquis and I can't have the best of both worlds. I've been a vegan 98% of my life (fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables), exercise everyday, even when my legs were broke (I could always do pilates), walk 3-5 miles a day. But I don't drink enough water. Very important. You have to drink lots of water.
I guess I'm just venting. The holistic treatment is more my speed, but even they say to combine holistic with traditional medicine. My aim is to start Eliquis tomorrow. And to get thru my anxiety. I'll let you know how it goes. It really helps to have this community. God bless you all.
I have no way of reading a pkg from the US. I think I used to buy Folgers, or whatever served in restaurants or convenience stores. I would look to see where it is grown. Perhaps the process of chemicals when grown or packaging. Only know it caused afib for me. Coffee ice cream, Haagen Daz.
I just googled. Here is answer. Yes, chemicals like synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides are commonly used in conventional coffee farming globally, including in major producing regions, but the US primarily imports coffee, and organic/shade-grown options exist to avoid these, though testing shows residues like AMPA (glyphosate byproduct) can appear even in organic coffee due to environmental contamination. While most US coffee comes from abroad where chemicals are prevalent, choosing certified organic or tested coffee can significantly reduce exposure to these agricultural chemicals.
Your side effects eith eliquis are common. Google and you will find more. Google the side effects of meteprolol. If you have a Whole Foods store near you, look for coffee grown in Costa Rica. It is more pure, but does not mean you can drink lots. Eliminate or balance out with plenty of cream or milk and eat protein the same time. I am able to have a little more than one quarter cup with milk or cream with no have problems.
I take Metoprolol succinate 25mg sustained release tablet (TOPROL XL) - 1 TABLET by mouth daily for Paroxysmal atrial flutter and fibrillation which was discovered on Pacemaker interrogation back in 2017.
I have taken it every day as prescribed since then. I NEVER know when I am having an Afib episode, no symptoms at all. Because of my Pacemaker I can not rely on my Apple watch for notifications. I can get the graphs after the interrogation and can see where they have occurred, but when I check the date, there was nothing out of the ordinary at all.
I have just this week switched to decaf coffee to see if that makes any difference in the longevity or frequency when I have my next interrogation of the Pacemaker (usually every three months).
I have had episodes later at night around 9pm of low blood pressure, especially diastolic and I'm wondering if the Metoprolol is causing that. I also take Lisinopril and my cardiologist cut that in half and the upper number is running good 125-128, but the diastolic is up/down and I have to take BP about 4 times for it to settle into what I call normal.

The coffee I buy only lists "coffee" as ingredients!
