Elevated Vitamin B 2 results x 2. What are the implications?
I have had laboratory work completed with a new Concierge physician for an initial visit then followed by another blood draw a month later for follow-up. The first Vitamin B12 result on 8/28/2025 was 1707 with normal benchmark between 232-1245 per the lab, repeat on 11/18/2025 the B12 value was 1836. All other labs were within normal limits. Has anyone experienced this and what was the outcome or physician recommendations. My physician had none.

just curious... were you eating a diet high in B12 like beef? don't think I would worry about it, b12 is a water soluble vitamin that will just wash through your system. as far as I know it is hard to overdose with B12.
I disagree about it just washing through our systems. I was put on Vit B12 due to a deficiency. When my level was rechecked, it was off-scale and I was having physical problems. I was told to stay off for 3 months before being retested. The level was then back in the normal range and I no longer had the physical problems. I now take a supplement once a week, rather than daily, and the level is remaining steady. I had been overdosed. My body did not read that it was just to pass it though my system.
@normahorn - what kind of physical problems did you have? I have CCUS and a high Vit B12 level - 1800+. I recently stopped taking a daily B12 supplement, but have it in a GLP-1 drug. I have also been breaking out in strange rashes and heart palpitations. B21 has been high like this for at least two years. None of my docs say anything about it. have been to docs about the rashes. Hemotologist did not think that the rash was from MDS, etc.

@normahorn I, as well, agree that the results that are reflected in my labs for the B12 are WAY out of the normal. Realizing that B12 in water soluble, that I new, but something is amiss and I need to find out what it is. Samclembeau, I do not eat beef, mainly because I don't like it. Am taking no supplements other than what is in a daily multivitamin which I have placed on hold until I find an answer. There is literature on the subject through NIH re high levels and the side effects and implications. Just can't seem so get my physician enthused about looking further into the matter. Do I need to see a hematologist?
I too had high levels of B12 1800+ my physician said it would not bother me at all and did nothing about it either. We have not checked it since but I topped taking B12 and Bcomplex as well. Leene
I am still very concerned re my B12 levels being almost double of normal range and the implications that it has in my well-being. Has anyone experienced this? And what was/were the outcomes. It appears that I have received Private messages but I'm not sure how to retrieve them. Thank you for your help
