Elevated Liver Enzymes After Gallbladder Removal
In late December 2025, I had emergency gallbladder removal. Now I consistently have elevated liver enzymes. We have reduced & changed several medications. I have chronic migraine & fibromyalgia. I work with a pain management specialist who has prescribed ketamine to help with my pain. Because of my elevated liver enzymes, I can’t get the infusions I need to manage my pain. What can I safely do to reduce my liver enzymes & still receive the pain treatment I need. I have already tried the “traditional” fibromyalgia & migraine treatments. The only thing that gives me the ability to function is the ketamine. There must be some answer besides “stop taking your medication”. I have had many additional blood tests to detect other liver disease as well as an MRCP. All have been normal.

I've written about my efforts to reduce ALT/AST back to normal by a change in diet. I followed how to reduce fatty liver on social media because my docs had no suggestions since a liver ultrasound and fibroscan were normal. My problem now is that I'm continuing to loose weight with my new diet...
@tillymack - sounds like you are concerned about your weight loss. Do you plan to modify your diet in some way? Consult with one of your doctors?
@lisalucier I did meet with a nutritionist for over an hour!
