Eagle syndrome: When to see a doctor?

Posted by alfshort71 @alfshort71, May 22, 2023

About 4 months ago my Va Dr said that I might have Eagle syndrome. I’m 51 male, about a week ago I was just tired and didn’t want to do anything. Last Tuesday when I was drinking my morning shake if felt like a raspberry seed got under my tongue. Also it felt like allergies because my nose would run and feels like cotton in my throat. Went to Dr on Wednesday did ekg said to go to ER for another EKG. They kept me overnight and did a stress test next morning and it was fine. But lastnite under my tongue hurt again and it would make my left lymph node swell and hard to open mouth. Today it feels like every time I swallow that it’s a big cotton ball that stops at the bottom of my neck and lymph node is swelling up. Do I need to get seen ASAP. Thanks

I did it was a telephone video call or whatever you wanna call it with the ENT and she said that it could be due to my acid reflux because it doesn’t hurt anymore in my tongue but my lymph node is still swelled a little bit but it doesn’t swell up when I eat anymore so I think my saliva duct was probably clogged a little bit and I got it out. Thanks to you, but she said I need to cut back on my carbonated drinks and caffeine which is a bummer as far as the eagle syndrome goes I have to get a neck MRI, which I’m waiting to hear from the VA to schedule it , so far so good

@alfshort71, oh good. So glad you are feeling better. You are in our thoughts and prayers that the MRI proves to show nothing major. Please keep us all informed!
