Dry mouth remedies
I have Sjogren's Syndrome that causes dry mouth. I have been using Biotene Oral Balance Dry Mouth Moisturizing Gel to help me sleep at night. I put 1/2" on my tongue and my saliva started to flow and it sting my throat when I swallowed it. May be the strong sweetness irritate my throat? Wonder if you have the same experience?
Also, any recommendation for products that you use that help your dry mouth will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Maybe I can Wookiee, my relative is a retired cancer specialist, I called hiM to answer. He said the less chemicals. we Use the better.
He suggest water, and chewing gum should help. At night cold water.
It’s important to always read labels.
@woogie Hi that is why my Dr suggested I get ACT mouthwash because of the parabans in Biotene so I only use ACT now and there lozengers
Hi Kathymcl
I hope the sour Candy is sugar free.
Too much sugar in your mouth is not healthy.
I went to Walmart today, and learned a few things. Act lozenges have carnival wax in them the same as paraben in biotene. So it’s really 6 of one and half dozen of other.
Both products are basically the same.
chewing gum and water could be the lesser of the 2 evils.
The pharmacist in Walmart said the sprays are good, as they sell the most sprays over everything else, but that could be just the area.
As you know carnuba wax is what they use on cars.
I did find an alcohol free product call Toms of Maine. Don’t know much about it.
Hope the little info. Is a help.
I have another problem to add to the dry mouth issue. I have GERD, and artificial sweeteners are on the no no list. So is chewing gum. So I am constantly looking for something to put in my mouth. Anyone else with this problem?

@ funcountess I have the toothpaste also as well as mouthwash they both burn maybe that just me but they burn mouth my mouth
Hi elmay,
No artificial sweeteners for you. Will make your condition worse. If you are able try and get the attention of a pharmacist at Walmart, Target or where ever you shop. Take a few things off the shelf and take to the pharmacy dept, and discuss what will work for you. Best in early morning, or before they close.
Like anything else some pharmacist are willing to help, and others could care less.
I’m sure something will help.

To answer question Jerry, cannot get an ice cube in the small neck opening of a water bottle, maybe another solution is put water in freezer .
Just curious, are you an artist?
Those circles in your intro area are interesting. Did you draw them?
Kind of reminds me of gingerw art work.

I have tried Biotene and Act Tabs and now use Xylimelt lozenges which I think go a long way to solve the problem of dry mouth. Have used them for about 2 years. Now I get 8 solid hours of sleep a night instead of 4 or 5 restless hours.
All comments very interesting. Thank you. Barbara Evans (chezbarb2@gmail.com)
You may be able to order lozenges online from Walgreens.com
I use ACT dry mouth lozenges. They seem to work for a while after the lozenge is dissolved, but I do have to suck on them frequently to keep my mouth moist. I haven't found anything that works really well.
I use theraBreath lozenges. They work well, good taste an I have had no afereffects, only can’t wait for another, good taste and that work
