Drug Shortage

This drug shortage has affected local pharmacies with the ordering of my Depakote. Giant has had 500mg of Depakote on backorder for several months. It must give me two 250mg tablets daily. I transferred my prescription to Rite Aid pharmacy because of all of this. Rite Aid cannot get Depakote when it orders the medicine. It only can get the generic form. I had the Depakote prescription transferred back to Giant.

This month my prescription insurance automatically enrolled me in the mail order of its prescriptions. I have never received my medicine in the mail. I am without two days of Depakote because of this. I will just call my insurance company tomorrow and have it allow Giant Pharmacy to give me a week's supply of pills.

I cannot live with breaking the record of being seizure free for over two years so I will just take an extra Zonisamide tonight.
