driving beer and sleeping most of day
Husband is starting as early as 10:00 AM, and drinking and sleeping until he goes to bed at 4 to 6 in the evening. He has dementia, and sits and stares into space all day. He refuses to go out of house, only bathes when a certain caregiver comes. He has no energy, or desire to watch TV, or read, or even take a short walk. He did drink, before, but never like this. He seems to forget how much he has drunk, 8 to 10 cans of light beer, and often wine as well. He is drunk and just falls into bed. He is just quiet, and sleepy. I have tried all the tricks to stop or lessen the amount of alcohol, all to no avail.

I am so sorry for your situation. I can’t imagine how hard this must be on you. Can you get palliative care with Hospice to help or give you a break? I don’t know if this is possible, maybe counci on Aging if you have that where you live? Ask around to the medical professions to see if something can be of help, surely someone could support you & you can get some help. I will pray this for you.
