Dr. Doug Lucas Has anyone here paid money to work with Dr. Lucas?
I have been following his Youtube channel, did his free masterclass and have learned a great deal. It is evident that he is highly intelligent, motivated, and ambitious. Today I listened to a 2022 podcast interview with him by a health/fitness professional in the UK (Tony Wingard with whom I am not familiar). I think this was just when the optimal bone health website was getting started. The interview is quite interesting as I learned a lot about Dr. Lucas’s background which I have not managed to find anywhere else. I was surprised to know that he was a professional ballet dancer for 2 years before going on to medical school because of his fascination with the muscular/skeletal systems. He also talks about how he moved from orthopedic surgeon to functional-anti-aging medicine and the influence of his wife who is a registered dietician. After listening to this podcast I do believe his main goal is to heal and teach. I like how he analyzes studies and updates information and recommendations.

If Dr. Doug could turn my osteoporosis around without taking those toxic drugs, I would gladly invest the $13,000. But it is really scary to think that this guy is just praying on a population and who is desperate. So I would love to hear if anyone has actually used him and been delighted.

Can you please share what you know about vibration plates? Thank you.
@lindamaegirl You dont need to spend that kinda money, just find a good biochemist. He should be able to help you at a fraction of the cost.
After listening to the guy I go to , talk about down sides of osteoporosis meds, I wouldn't touch them...ever!
Have you tried a really good bone supplement and collagen powder with peptides( eg Fortibone) The collagen powders are gonna be expensive if they are going to work ( cheaper stuff won't ) and its no quick fix but my sister reversed her osteoporosis doing this. Good luck. I just started.
@klw123 I'm no expert, but do not get plates that move in a see saw motion. People have sustained damage to their bodies. I think it was Dr. Clinton Rubin who was interviewed by Margaret Martin physical therapist and osteoporosis guru. The video on youtube is entitled "Does Vibration Therapy Improve Osteoporosis?" The Marodyne plate is very expensive, and there are a lot of cheap ones, but beware. The Marodyne really does work. Martin has an interview with a woman whose scores improved using it. She also ate 5 prunes a day and a lot of protein, which is necessary to build bone and muscle. Only get LOW INTENSITY VIBRATION PLATES. High intensity plates will injure you. You might get retinal detachment, for example. Martin has a very scientific write up on her site about this, I seem to recall. I may be wrong. Google, I guess, and you can find it. It's a huge site.
Be careful how much protein you eat. Unfortunately, too much stresses out the kidneys. Monitor your eGFR, creatinine, and albumin in your yearly metabolic panel to see how your kidneys are doing. The numbers. Then look up those numbers on the Kidney foundation site. I'm mentioning this protein issue because experts like Dr. Gabriel Red Meat Lyons say you should take one gram of protein for each pound you weigh. So I'm 122 and should have 122 grams of protein per day? Kidney disease affects 90% of people who don't know it. There are 5 stages or so. I just became aware of it because friends told me about it. But they push meat protein like crazy for osteoporosis. This may seem off topic, but it is not, because once you start treating oestoporosis with food, which is a very good idea, you may start affecting your kidneys, which don't like a lot of calcium either. For me, 60 grams of protein or less might be good, some meat, occasional protein powder – plant based peas and greens because animal protein powder is bad for your kidneys.

4 Reactions@anniesezu812 I'm going to restart taking CodeAge Collagen peptides. A friend and her brother have been taking it for a couple years... I can put it in hot coffee. It has helped his knee joints. Not too crazy expensive. I also will not take the meds, but I'm going to an endocrinologist to talk about hormone replacement soon. I haven't decided whether to do that or not. I go to an exercise class almost 5 days a week of one kind or another. Just do what I can and what I enjoy.
@klw123 I read that they can dislodge lens if you've had cataract surgery. I don't remember where I read it so you might want to confirm the validity of this.

1 Reaction@anniesezu812 What "really good bone supplement" do you use? I use Sparkle Wellness Bone Mineral Boost and would love to add a good supplement.
@olean Can you tell me where to find his information on Evista? It recently was suggested for me and I am beginning research on if I think it is right for me. How long have you been on it and any side effects? Also, if it has been long enough, any increase in bmd or quality?
@loplady I take Metagenics, I buy many supplements, this is best i can afford but my first choice would be Algae Cal Plus. Thorne has a good supplement, Thorne advance Bone supplement and also Life exfension Bone restore. I've enclosed a screen shot but not sure if its properly cropped. Good luck!
