Dr. Doug Lucas Has anyone here paid money to work with Dr. Lucas?

I have been following his Youtube channel, did his free masterclass and have learned a great deal. It is evident that he is highly intelligent, motivated, and ambitious. Today I listened to a 2022 podcast interview with him by a health/fitness professional in the UK (Tony Wingard with whom I am not familiar). I think this was just when the optimal bone health website was getting started. The interview is quite interesting as I learned a lot about Dr. Lucas’s background which I have not managed to find anywhere else. I was surprised to know that he was a professional ballet dancer for 2 years before going on to medical school because of his fascination with the muscular/skeletal systems. He also talks about how he moved from orthopedic surgeon to functional-anti-aging medicine and the influence of his wife who is a registered dietician. After listening to this podcast I do believe his main goal is to heal and teach. I like how he analyzes studies and updates information and recommendations.

I will try to add the link to the podcast below.

I have not joined Dr. Lucas because I already joined the Bone Coach, Kevin Ellis, b4 I started seeing and watching Dr. Doug podcasts. I am glad I joined bc I have learned a wealth of information that may help me with my goal to stay off of osteoporosis meds as long as possible. I say it may help bc I have only been a member for 5 months, but I believe it will. The difference btwn these 2 men is that Doug Lucas is a doctor, and he is pro hormone replacement therapy. Kevin Ellis is neither, but has done a lot of research and has a great program. There are also others who have similar programs. I listen to all of the podcasts, and they are basically all saying the same thing. I think the information they share is very helpful, and I'm glad I invested in myself.

trixiegirl, Lucas is most impressive, though a little pricy. He's probably worth it.

I think it may be helpful if you are prepared to spend $13, 000 annually, which I haven't done.

Even going solo I have some improvement in bone density from first diagnosis in 2021. Lower spine now -3.6 (was -4), femoral neck now -1.5 (was -2.0) , hip now-2.0, was -2.5.

Some way to go but have recently found Dr Fishman's 12 yoga poses for osteoporosis (find on YouTube), I am now on hrt, take pure synergy bone renewal, plenty of green veg, bone broth, protein, have been going to gym for past year, also do heel drops.

I've had various setbacks including over active thyroid for a while but have still made progress. Not taking alendronate. So it is possible, think 'I am building stronger bones'
I look out all the time for attainable things I can do.
Btw I'm now 63.

Wow! Your progress and hard work are wonderful and impressive. I will check out the yoga poses and supplements. Thank you. Would you be able to tell me what type of hrt you are on now? I need to find someone who will do tests for me to figure out what the cause of my bone loss is. I don’t want to use the drugs.

Do you go to the gym daily? I would like to go solo as you have done but I’m 69 and feel I need more guidance at least in the beginning of working out a good fitness plan. I have to be more careful due to some scoliosis caused by a degenerative lumbar disc grrrr diagnosed over 10 years ago. Therapeutic yoga with weights has always been my go to work out along with walking and lots of work in my yard (no more running or tennis grrr). Thank you again for sharing and congratulations on all your progress. I appreciate your mantra: “I am building stronger bones”.😊🙏

I have joined Dr. Doug's Healthspan Nation (I think it's 25/month USD). Weekly Wedensday Zoom meetings on different topics - you can ask questions. Very helpful to me.

Oh wow, Andrea! I am trying to work up my courage to do something similar. I bet it’s super helpful being able to ask questions! If you miss a zoom meeting can you watch it all later? Can you post questions before the meeting? Thanks so much for posting. I see my first doctor tomorrow and I know it will be frustrating as I really want to try going forward without drugs first. My impression is that Dr. Lucas is well educated and always looking for the best modes of treatment and products based on his ability to analyze studies, draw seemingly unbiased conclusions 🤞and from his work with patients. Thank you again for posting!
