Does pain in your thigh muscles stop you from walking at 200 steps?
Can fibromyalgia pain worsen to point when walking that you have to stop? Pain in my thigh and hip muscles begins at 150 steps and increases until I can no longer walk. Vascular tests and nerve conduction tests are normal and spinal stenosis has been ruled out.

I have a similar problem and do not walk nearly as much as recommended. My ankles hurt plus I have some spine issues. I recently received two steroid shots in my back which helped the left leg and the lower back to some point, but the pain is still there at times. And same as you my tests proved to be normal, so it's beyond frustrating. We must hang in there.
Yes, when it's a bad flare my thighs will feel so heavy, burn and feel like I'm trying to wade through concrete. What I do is stop for a minute or two, taking deep breaths and stretching gently. Then keep on walking.
It takes a few times of stopping before I'm able to walk pain free, but soldering on works for me. Plus, it's for a good cause - walking my dog. I pretty much do it for her! But it helps.
Wow, you sound like me, except I don’t have a dog to walk. I have been able to pedal on a recumbant bike for 30 min at a time. My walking hasn’t improved, but I generally feel better because of it.
I’m glad the shots have helped. I don’t feel so alone with this pain and limitations thanks to your reply.
That’s me alright. Never heard anyone talk about it. Guess I will have to keep walking and stopping. I hesitate going places because I have to walk.
The same thing happens to me continuing to walk really does help even when you feel like you can't quite put one foot in front of the other, just do it in, you kind of walk out of it.
Hello! myself I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia the past summer and diabetic neuropathy and MGUS. I have had blood tests, bone marrow biopsy and hopefully I will get a low dose fully body CT scan soon to get more answers. I have been experiencing pain in my hands, feet, shoulders, neck and thighs for years now. At first I just thought it was just sore muscles from not enough exercise. But the pain and stiffness seems to be getting worse. I felt like I was just falling apart at just in my late 40s. Now I was given gabapentin for pain but it made me so sleepy and dizzy that I couldn’t function on that medication so my orthopedic doctor told me to stop taking it. Now I just take Tylenol and ibuprofen for pain management. I do physical therapy to help me but I still struggle with lots of pain and swelling in areas. I am working on researching more info on fibromyalgia and that’s why I joined this group. I wanted to hear other people’s experiences and learn and share info about fibromyalgia.
Can anyone tell me if you also have a hard time sleeping?
What are some ideas or suggestions to help deal with the pain and lack of sleep?
what exercises are recommended to help with pain management?
Are there any specific natural remedies or medications that would be helpful for pain management?
Try these products for sleep: Lemon Balm - to quiet the mind; either Passion Flower or Valerian for the sleep. Know that Valerian has a really awful smell but no taste (this is js the nature of the plant). These are all plant based. Read up on it and try them if you wish.
There is a patch called Wellamoon that has helped me with insomnia from fibromyalgia. I don’t have a problem falling asleep, it’s staying asleep.
Check with your pharmacist and Dr first to ensure there are no complications for you.
I have had that same issue for years. I went for a Thai massage in Samara Costa Rica and the practioner uses yoga style massage.
She has you in position and uses her weight to perform the stretch after 2 treatments my pain was non existent, until I slid down a hill and pulled a muscle. Hopefully I can find someone in my province that is able to replicate her success. I have been for other Thai massages but they just hurt.
