Does insurance ever cover Aerobika?
I purchased my Aerobika from eBay without a prescription, although I've seen and heard that a Rx is required. Has that requirement changed? Also I spoke my supplemental insurance who said if the doctor asks for pre-authorization there might be coverage. Any chance that Medicare covers?
I see my pulmonologist this week, so being clear about what I ask will be helpful. Thanks.

I recently asked my pulmonologist to order an aerobika for me, I found out that my insurance doesn't cover it. I have an Aetna medicare advantage plan. I think it all depends on your insurance. I bought one from Blue Dot medical and one from Save Rite Medical.

My insurance, a Blue Cross plan with Medicare covers 80%. Every plan is different.

Thanks for the responses. I saw my pulmonologist yesterday and chose not to ask for a prescription because we had more important things to discuss. I'll just consider it a trade off for all the money I save by rarely going out for dinner since covid. 😉

I bought my Aerobika from saveritemedical.com, which does not have a Medicare supplier ID number. I then completed a "patient's request for medical payment," Medicare form CMS-1490S. I paid $73.99 for the Aerobika. Medicare approved $45.19 and reimbursed me $35.43. I did the same form for my nebulizer and compressor, but they were denied because the supplier (also saveritemedical) does not have a supplier ID number. I've just accepted that it is not worth the hassle and they were worth what I paid for them. Donna T
