Does anyone have/wear inserts in their shoes?
Do these actually correct or help your condition? Are they for your feet, back, hips? There are these Good Feet stores popping up but there are no doctors there to fit you. I wonder.

Just my input on my situation. I had posted a question about a sport sandal and got a lot of input, but put ordering some on hold. I did order a pair of Vionic (built in orthotic) sandals. Great item! And, a pair of running shoes. I am ECSTATIC over that purchase.
I got ASICS Gel-Excite 10. Very reasonably priced. Omg! I immediately put them on and went shopping to try them out. I have several foot issues, knee, calf and ankle, but all were tolerable with these shoes! I’m going to order another pair. I ordered a half size larger than I normally wear and in Wide to accommodate my inserts. I got my inserts from Walmart. They work well.
My experiences with podiatrists hasn’t been productive. They note the high arches, plantar fasciitis, etc, but have never been interested in prescribing orthotics. They say buy your own, insurance won’t cover it, they say theirs are no better than buying online, etc. I have consulted with several top podiatrist at very prestigious teaching hospitals and they were just not helpful. I also saw one in a private office. I have type 1 diabetes so, that’s why I thought they would he helpful. That hasn’t been my experience and I doubt I’ll see another one. Wearing good shoes has helped me the most, especially since I started working out.
I have worn custom orthotics for years as a runner, and now I generally wear my running type shoes all the time (basically) with the orthotics in them. I pronate, this corrects that. Insurance does not cover them. The podiatrist I went to in Sonoma County uses a company that make them very thin so easy to accommodate in most shoes. The podiatrist also had metatarsal pads put in them, which help tremendously. Good luck!
