Does anyone have tingle in feet when touching areas of back/shoulders?

Posted by NJ Ed @njed, Jul 6, 2022

I have sensorimotor polyneuropathy and for past several years, it seems that if somebody touches my upper back or shoulder, I get these very strange tingles down in feet. If you touch left shoulder, it effects left foot, right shoulder creates odd feeling in right foot. Run hand down center of back towards lower back, it effects both feet. Very strange feeling. Best way to describe this is like the nerves are super sensitive. Know it sounds odd, anyone else experience this or have any information? Ed

Hey 👋🏻 hope you are having smooth today. I’m just curious in how you got diagnosed. What was your experience through all the process. I had a EMG but that only tested the big fibers. I’m in a lot of pain and we are all trying to figure out why. My team it’s truly trying. Blessings of healing for you 🙏🏻❤️‍🩹

First diagnosed at Jeff Hosp in Phila in 2016. In Feb 2020, traveled to Mayo in MN, they did a large series of tests confirming sensory motor (idiopathic) PN. They did EMG, blood work, test for autonomic and other tests. No autonomic. Late 2021, Johns Hopkins confirmed that my PN is slowly progressive and could not come up with cause. I found both Mayo and Johns Hopkins incredible places. Yes, a wait but well worth it.
