Does anyone have gluteal tendinopathy? Any successful treatments?
I have gluteal tendinopathy and am getting to the point that I can hardly walk. I've been to 8 doctors and had injections of several kinds to no benefit. I've been to physical therapy at least 10 times with very little benefit (I must have done 10,000 "clam shells" and "bridges").
The only thing that helps some and gives me a few hours of reduced pain is hydrocodone. I don't know if there's any point in pursuing more treatment.

Hi, meterrilee -
NO insurance covers shock therapy or PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), which is another possible therapy. My physiatrist (physical medicine sports doc) did the shock therapy: 3 fifteen minute sessions, separated by a week, at $300 a pop. Well worth it for me!
Let me know if I can help further, and good luck for relief!

Thanks very much for the information!

You’re most welcomed.
The source of butt/hamstring pain might be the piriformus. A good orthopedic surgeon can make a determination.
I have the same. I have pain in my right buttock all day every day. PT aggrevates it. I am recovering from fractured hip and can't regain my strength in my legs because of the pain.

1 Reaction@yram I injured my lower back and buttocks while skiing several years ago. MRIs were inconclusive. I finally found a private practice neurologist who prescribed a cocktail of drugs that really helped me. This was after several ortho docs dismissed me because, as they said, "There is nothing else that can be done". Keep looking!
@sash
This sounds great, is this the first time you have done this?
